Cactus Garden in Lanzarote

Today we are in Lanzarote, visiting a spectacular Cactus Garden!

Jardin de Cactus, that means Cactus Garden in Spanish, is one of the most known attractions in the island of Lanzarote.

The Cactus Garden was built according to the indications given by César Manrique, a famous artist born in Lanzarote, who contributed to preserve the beauty of his own island and enrich it with beautiful masterpieces. In Manrique’s works, art and nature coexist in perfect harmony.

In the Cactus Garden there are more than 1’000 species of cactus from all over the world! Walking between all these spiny creatures is truly amazing. They are perfectly integrated in an architectonic complex that resembles an amphitheatre. Here, nature fuses together with art and the result is simply stunning.

The Cactus Garden is located in Guatiza, in the north side of Lanzarote, as you can see in the map below.

In the gallery you can have a walk in the Cactus Garden with us!

What a beautiful garden! I've never been to Spain but I'd love to visit. I love seeing the "outliers" in nature...spiky cacti can be as lovely as perfect flowers :)
